To-Do Lists Are for Suckers!

...well, maybe not. But I didn't want to call this a to-do list, and I didn't really want to call it a bucket list, either (namely because there's nothing amazing about buckets, nor about kicking them). So, here you go, dramatically titled:
SUPER GORGEOUS FUN THINGS (that will happen!)
  1. Get a tattoo
  2. Learn to do a striptease. Then do one.
  3. Start kickboxing again...or a regular Zumba class...or train for a 5k. Remember: exercise makes you happy!
  4. Learn a third language (in addition to English & German)
  5. Draw a lovely self-portrait
  6. Write. A lot. In every way. (Okay, so this isn't very measurable. But it's important to me that it not be, so that I don't have any excuse to stop writing.)
  7. Have a trashy TV/movie marathon
  8. Have a good TV/movie marathon, lasting at least 4 hours
  9. Take a road trip to Seattle
  10. Write/keep a blog for a whole month
There you have it. I'm sure I'll come up with more to add, too.

After I wrote this list yesterday, I proceeded to do a self-portrait, too:
Yeah, it's on lined paper. And it's sketchy. But I'm proud of it!

Soul-Tease

I was in an unhealthy relationship. It had nothing to do with physical abuse, nor was I letting The Boy hurt me verbally. Or in any other way. I was abusing myself in every other way that I could think of. (I hated my body, I wasn't "good enough" for anyone, I was dumb and unattractive and awful.) I'll tell the story of how I realized this and the odd fight for myself that ensued some other time. The important thing now, though, is that I need to learn to love myself.

This blog is for the journey towards...
treating my body as the beautiful home that it is.
acknowledging and employing my "smarts."
no longer apologizing for my every perceived misstep.
living beautifully.
and honestly.
and confidently.
towards loving myself.

In short, this blog is for me. You can just watch. It's a strip-tease of the soul, if you will. So sit back and take a deep breath.
It begins.

All smiles tonight,
Taylor :)
